MTV Video Music Awards 2018- Os Nomeados

Já são conhecidos os nomeados da edição de 2018 dos MTV Video Music Awards: Cardi B lidera a contagem com dez nomeações, seguida de perto pelos majestáticos The Carters, com oito. A encerrar o pódio temos o sempre omnipresente Drake e um Childish Gambino caído no goto das massas, com sete cada.

A recém-mamã Cardi estreia-se assim em grande na corrida aos troféus da icónica cerimónia de prémios do canal de música, depois de no ano passado ter desabrochado ali mesmo para o mainstream com uma chamativa actuação de "Bodak Yellow" no pre-show. Já Queen B obtém a sua sétima nomeação na categoria de "Vídeo do Ano", um recorde absoluto para qualquer artista. 

Bruno Mars surge mencionado em seis categorias, Ariana Grande em cinco, Khalid e Ed Sheeran em quatro e tanto Shawn Mendes como Janelle Monáe em três. O mesmo número alcançado por Taylor Swift, relegada para algumas das categorias técnicas com "Look What You Made Me Do". Destaque também para Camila Cabello (cinco nomeações), Dua Lipa (três) e Post Malone (duas), que coleccionam as suas primeiras nomeações na história dos VMAs.

As novidades entre as categorias prendem-se com a inclusão de uma segunda classe para alojar talentos emergentes - Push Artist of the Year - e o reconhecimento por parte do canal da febre latina que desde o ano passado tem tomado conta do mainstream, através de uma categoria própria.

A 35ª edição dos MTV Video Music Awards acontece a 20 de Agosto próximo no Radio City Music Hall, em Nova Iorque. Aguardam-se ainda o anúncio da line-up de performers e o depositário do Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award deste ano.
