Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift e The Weeknd lideram a corrida aos gramofones dourados de 2016, conforme anunciado hoje. O autor de To Pimp a Butterfly arrecada, entre trabalhos em nome próprio e colaborações, 11 nomeações, enquanto T-Swift e Abel Tesfaye coleccionam 7 distinções cada.

Também Drake e Florence and the Machine são reconhecidos em 5 categorias, enquanto os Alabama Shakes, Ed Sheeran e Kanye West são distinguidos com 4 nomeações. Já os estreantes James Bay, Elle King, Kehlani, Fetty Wap ou Leon Bridges também são reconhecidos pela Academia. 

Ausências notadas? Lana Del Rey, Rihanna, Madonna, Beyoncé, Future ou Carly Rae Jepsen, que não conquistaram qualquer nomeação. Adele, a mulher do momento, também está ausente da lista por não ter tido qualquer lançamento durante o período de elegibilidade estabelecido (1 de Outubro de 2014 a 30 de Setembro de 2015).

Para Portugal também há uma excelente notícia: RAC, alias de André Allen Anjos, português radicado há vários anos em Portland, está nomeado na categoria de Best Remixed Recording pela sua remistura de "Say My Name", original dos Odesza.
